Venue

This year takes us to Cabarrus County and their wonderful Frank Liske Park, home to many Greater Charlotte Geocaching Club events. The County, the Park and it's staff have been fully engaged with local cachers for years, and are working with us to bring a great Fall Fling this year. Apart from the Event itself, other activities available in Frank Liske Park include:

  • Paddleboats – for rent
  • Fishing
  • Miniature Golf – $3/person per game
  • Lake
  • Playgrounds
  • Horseshoe Pits
  • Volleyball Courts

Here is a map of the park. Click on the map to be taken to a larger pdf version that you can print.

Fall Fling 2013 Meal

Dinner will cost $7 per adult with children under 5 free with paying adult. Please do post a "will attend log" to let us know if you can come and how many people will eat dinner and how many adults/kids will be in your group as we need this information to plan for food/drink purchases and activities. However, you will need to pay for your meal tickets in the NCGO Fall Fling Store before the event.

Fall Fling 2013 Camping

There is NO camping at Frank Liske Park this year but we have arranged for the nearby Camp T.N. Spencer. Camp Spencer has a playground, bathhouse, lakes and trails.

It is about a 15 minute drive between Liske and Spencer.

Campers are responsible for reserving their own campsites or cabins and making payment to Camp Spencer.

Please review the Camping Rules before reserving.

Click on the map below for a larger version.

Quantities are limited so don’t wait too long to reserve your place if you want to camp here. Although Camp Spencer has a group camping area, it is only available to Scouting groups so we only can get the 8 tent sites and 6 cabins.

NCGO will hold evening events at Camp Spencer. Of course you can choose to camp in any of the area campgrounds but this is where many of the people attending Fall Fling and camping will be. We hope to see you there!

Fall Fling 2013 Volunteer Information

We could not possible pull these events off without a lot of help from so many people and we thank everyone who has ever helped us.

This year we will need volunteers for all the usual things like food prep/serving, kids activities, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, the store, games and contests, trackables, greeters and information booth, camping, local directions, etc.

We will have a schedule here  where you can volunteer for ‘shifts’ in one or more areas and try to keep it as up to date as possible so everyone knows what our current needs are.

Stay tuned for updates.

This event will be a great chance for North Carolina geocachers and our neighbors to the north, south, east and west to spend a little time in a less hectic setting just getting to know each other while enjoying the 4F's of events: Food, Finds, Friends, and Fellowship which result in the all important 5th F -FUN!
