Located just a short float from Puppy Point's posted position.
From near this location, looking to South-SouthEast, we should be able to see Smith Mountain Dam, which makes this lake possible. To the South and SouthWest is Smith Mountain. This end of the lake is also the location of "Smith Mountain Lake Cooperative Wildlife Management Area," all along Smith Mountain on both sides of the dam.
Have fun criss-crossing the Bedford and Pittslyvania county Lines, which continue down the middle of Roanoke River past the dam site, and in a curvy path along the river and lake to northwest of the dam. Coincidentally this is also not far from the Franklin County line, about 2 miles to the northwest.
We will briefly celebrate just off Alpha Drive at the beginning (or is it the end?) of Smith Mtn lake. We have no intention of sacking the dam, and we recommend staying a safe distance away.
