South Jetty
Surf’s up! A favorite spot among locals for surfing and kite surfing, the South Jetty extends out from the mouth of the Siuslaw River. Bring binoculars to spot surfers riding the break inside the jetty next to seals, sea lions and birds. Be careful on the rocks. They’re pretty slippery when wet.
From the jetty, explore the miles of open beach and dunes above the Siuslaw River. Pack a picnic for an ocean side lunch. Or, hire a fishing or crabbing guide to help you find your own next mouthwatering meal. The crab dock makes the South Jetty a great place to throw in your pot.

This truly unique, trackable wooden geocoin was made in Vida, Oregon along the McKenzie River. Each half is earned by completing a separate printable passport – available online at Eugene, Cascades & Coast Geocaching, one for Florence and one for the McKenzie.
HOW TO CLAIM YOUR LOCALLY MADE GEOCOIN
• Complete the passport by visiting caches and recording the password found in each cache.
• Bring your original completed passport to the Eugene, Cascades & Coast Adventure Center (3312 Gateway St in Springfield, OR) daily between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
• Receive the trackable geocoin (while supplies last).
• Can’t make it to the Eugene, Cascades & Coast Adventure Center to pick up your trackable? For pick up alternatives, contact Adventures@EugeneCascadesCoast.org or call 541.743.8767 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
