Wie beim weit verbreiteten Standard-Sudoku gilt hier die Regel, dass in jeder Zeile, jeder Spalte und in jedem 3x3er Block jede Ziffer von eins bis neun nur einmal vorkommen darf.
Zusätzlich werden hier jedoch Zahlen in gestrichelt umrahmten Feldern gruppiert, deren jeweilige Summe als eine kleine Zahl im oberen Teil angegeben ist. Diese Summe darf ebenfalls nur aus Ziffern gebildet werden, die innerhalb der Gruppe nur einmal vorkommen.
