Geocache Description:

Edward Hasted, in the 1798 publication of 'The History and Topographical Survey of the County of Kent: Volume 6', has this to say about Bobbing: "It is not an unpleasant situation, though at the same time it has not the character of being very healthy." About Iwade, he concludes "It is hardly known, excepting to those who travel towards the Isle of Shepey, to which the road leads through this parish over the marshes to the King's ferry".

And that's a pretty accurate depiction of this location... a hardly known, not unpleasant situation on the way to Sheppey.

So it is with great enthusiasm that I now make you traipse around this gloriously inviting-sounding area!

There's a few caches in this area now that use footpath ZR104 (which at both ends is now unmarked, but accessible and walkable), ZR100, ZR101 and ZU48, and Stickfast Lane. On an Ordnance Survey map the routes of the local footpaths are easily identifiable... on open Street Map there is less data. If you're unsure about the route, it may be worth consulting a paper or online OS map first. Stickfast Lane seems a surprisingly busy road, so please exercise the usual care and caution, especially with dogs and children.

This is one cache of a handful, put out to support GC4542F Kent Geocaching Meet #41.

If you're rushing out to claim an FTF on this cache, but not doing it in the spirit of the local meet, then you're really kind of overlooking the point of this tub. But congratulations in advance to the FTF person; well done - you got here first; that's marvellous.

Nothing too glamorous; this is a simple pot, with a hat on top.

Yeehaw!
