This is one of my occasional series of caches alongside the Grantham Canal. It may also be done as a cache and dash. The cache is a 1.2 litre clip-lock container and so is big enough for the log and pencil, a few swops and TBs. Please replace exactly as found - where it is concealed from even quite close inspection but readily at hand should one sit on the obvious platform. Thank you.
This cache at the side of the road just off the Grantham Canal tow-path; as such it can be done as a "cache and dash" (clear and obvious parking to the north of the bridge) but I think that you will find it much more enjoyable to do alongside the growing number of caches near the Grantham Canal.
There is absolutely no need to force your way up the steep bank or through brambles from the canal tow path - there is a much easier signposted path to get up to road level.
The towpath makes a very pleasant walk and there is generally plenty of wildlife to see over much of the year.
Despite being a rural road, the traffic can move very quickly so please take care. If you are doing this from the tow-path then if you take the path from the canal from the eastern side of the bridge you will not have to cross the road to get to the cache. There is limited parking beside the road on the north side of the bridge but please don't block the gateway.
When placed there were a few items of the usual swag to swap. In addition, as the cache is close to the water I have left some water-related stickers - please regard these as "freebies" for the younger cachers rather than swops. When they are close to running out please let me know and I will do my best to replenish them.
