Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Oak Creek Challenge Trail

Cache is at posted coordinates but you must meet the requirements of this challenge in order to log a find on it.

Aesop's Fable is the story of the tortoise and the hare. The hare thought he would easily win so he stopped to take a nap to only wake up and find out the tortoise had already crossed the finish line. Slow and steady wins the race. To complete this challenge:

The Rules:

To complete this challenge you must meet all of the following conditions:

  1. Find 25 caches on the second day after they were published. Example: If a cache publishes on Jan 22 2013 and you find it Jan 24 2013 it would qualify.
*The macro uses placed on date instead of published date. I will allow you to use either published date or placed on date but not a mixture of both. Since there are two options for qualification, there will be two FTF's.
  2. All caches types count

Additional Information:

  • This cache cannot be used to meet the requirements of this challenge.
  • Any posted "Found It" logs that do not meet the requirements of this challenge will be deleted.
  • If you have not met the requirements of this challenge, you may visit this cache, sign the log book and post a note on this page. When you have met the requirements of this challenge, you may then post a "Found It" log without having to revisit the cache.
  • Proof can be shown by running the gsak macro or by creating a bookmark or a list of qualifying caches.
  • FTF Honors go to the first person (or team) to sign and qualify, if multiple people signed at the same time and qualify, Co-FTF works. Please notify twofingersdown or bjmccacher with any questions.

The macro can be found here. Special thanks to omr419 for writing the macro.

More information about the trail:

The Oak Creek trail was on old railroad line that was taken out of service in 1993 and turned into the trail in 1996. To find out more information click here. We hope that you enjoy the trail as much as we do.
