A circular walk of approximately 2.5 miles, containing 12 caches, on footpaths and quiet country lanes. There is a short stretch between 11 & 12 where you need to walk alongside the B1077 which can be busy and traffic does travel fast but the verges should be wide enough to walk on. The starting point is at the "Old Queens Head" pub which is now a house and there is a large layby here to park in, although it is sometimes popular during the day for drivers to have a snooze!
You could combine this trail with the Fiddlers Forage series to make a longer figure of eight walk - See GC4R2M2 for details
This walk is where, as a child, I used to exercise my horse (hence Great Ellingham Gallop), we used to enjoy walking and trotting around the country lanes and then having a good old gallop along the path at the side of the field.
Please be very careful to replace the cache in exactly the same place as found in order not to spoil it for others and please use the suggested waypoint for parking as there is nowhere to park along the country lanes.
From No. 1 head to the end of the lane and then turn left, the footpath runs to the right hand side of the bungalow.
In between No's 7 & 8 you can also do GC4AVMB - Secretary's Secret
There appears to be a bit of an issue with the farmer and the maintenance of footpaths at the moment - I have put waypoints on the necessary caches to help with direction - there is no need to go anywhere which says "No Public Right of Way" - please trust your GPS with OS maps
