Geocache Description:

This is a puzzle cache. It is not at the listed location. You need to find that by solving the Moebius Strip Crossword puzzle.

So, I spent the afternoon of New Years Eve solving the humongous two-page spread crossword puzzle in the newspaper. As is typical in big puzzles like that, there were several long diagonal bands with lots of equal length words. I began to wonder – what if you connected the top and bottom of those bands and formed a crossword puzzle in a ring. Then I thought, why not add a twist to the idea. Specifically, twist the band and form a Moebius strip (a geometric shape with one side and one edge – see picture).

After a little thought, I realized that since a Moebius Strip has a single continuous edge, there would be no up/down/left/right in the puzzle. The words would all have to form valid words spelled backwards.

Naturally, I had to take the challenge. It took a while, but I created a puzzle that met all those constraints. So you get two clues for each word (forward and backward). To keep things challenging for you, some of the clues are rather obscure. Also, note that I threw in one clue that uses geo-coordinates. The puzzle is a single image so you can print it out to work on it.

Solve the puzzle and then use this formula to find the cache:

40 [X-Y][A+D+C-B].[S+F+I-E][H+L][P+U-M]
83 [Y-Z][K+M+N].[O+W-R][T-P][A+B+D]
