Geocache Description:

I will be making my first trip to Canada at the end of January - early February and I would like to meet up with some Canadian cachers before heading home to the UK from Vancouver. Are you around in Victoria on the first Saturday morning of February for a quick social event, where we can talk about our favourite pasttime?

I got the idea for this event from a quick 30-minute gathering on the Portuguese island of Madeira last year where a few locals and some other tourists met at a spot near the coast to exchange trackables and chat about geocaching. It was a lot of fun, but there were several language barriers to cross and I was the only native English speaker!

I vowed that I would do something similar if I got the chance, and now, a year later, I do! Having never been to the area before, I don't know where's a cool place to meet, but I chose these coordinates so that anyone who hasn't logged the virtual here can do so, and also because it's not far from my hotel.  I just hope the weather is going to be decent!

I propose we meet for half an hour or so from 10am but stay longer if you want! I'm aware of the HAG series being published but will probably stick to this time. Will try not to change it so as not to mess anyone around.

Our holiday encompasses a rail journey from Toronto to Vancouver and this event will be towards the end of my Canadian stay where we have the day to explore Victoria at our leisure, and I thought, "Wow, what a great opportunity to meet some local cachers, and see geocaching from a Canadian perspective!"

Please bring trackables that want to go to the around the world, especially if they want to go to the UK!

And here we all were!
