This church in Sandy lane is believed to be the only church in the country of timber and thatched construction that was originally built as a place of worship. It was opened on the festival of St. Nicholas on the 6th of December 1892, as a mission church in the then parish of Chittoe. There is a sign in the foyer of the church giving more history.
If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
