Join us on June 29th for a Gold Country experience beyond your wildest dreams. There will be entertainment, fun and games, geocaching trails, local history & culture of the Gold Country area – all planned for your enjoyment!

WestCan is a Canadian legacy series of mega events to support rural economic development in Western Canada. The Gold Country Geocaching Poker Run is proud to carry the torch as WestCan3 following on the heels of the success of Best of the Bad (WestCan1) and Island Spirit 2012 (WestCan2). The Gold Country Geocaching Poker Run (WestCan3) will be a historic gold rush themed event - and will further build on the success of WestCan2.

10:00 am Visit vendors and participate in family friendly activity kiosks
11:00 am Orienteering workshop starts
12:00 pm T-Shirt painting activity. Free T-shirts for children under 19 and Volunteers.
12:45 pm Geocache container camouflage demonstration provided by worldcaching.com
1:30 pm Mayor Welcome
1:45 pm Gold Country Welcome
2:15 pm VIP load caches with GPX files
2:45 pm Load the other attendees caches
3:30 pm Beginners 101 Workshop
4:30 pm Wrap up



Note: we will have cd’s and usb sticks with the gpx files of new caches and Poker Run Stop Waypoints on them. If you bring your own electronic device (laptop, ipad…) you can be given the gpx files faster than waiting in line for the limited laptops set up to load the gpx files to your gps.
