Geocache Description:

You are looking for an extremely large bison tube* in honor of the arcade classic Street Fighter II. Since the game had an extremely large bison in it (read below for more info), I thought I would hide an extremely large bison tube. Park at the Captain Forsters Hammock Preserve and follow trails until you are close.

In 1987, Capcom released the original Street Fighter game with only moderate success. In 1991 they followed it up with Street Fighter II: The World Warrior for the arcades. Street Fighter II improved upon the many concepts introduced in the first game, including the use of command-based special moves and a six-button configuration, while offering players a selection of multiple playable characters, each with their own unique fighting style.

The success of Street Fighter II is credited for starting the fighting game boom during the 1990s which inspired other game developers to produce their own fighting game franchises, popularizing the genre. In 1993, sales of Street Fighter II exceeded $1.5 billion. The video game console ports to the Super NES and Mega Drive sold more than 14 million copies.

So why the bison reference in this geocache? When the game was designed in Japan, a character that must be fought was modeled after the boxer Mike Tyson and was named M. Bison. Concerned about intellectual property issues when they brought the game to the States, M. Bison's name was used instead on the final boss and the boxer character was renamed Balrog.

* Maybe it should be in the Guinness Book of World Records
