Great Detectives: Paul Drake Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

The WBs: I was considering re-deployment or transferring ownership on the detectives, as circumstances are unfortunately preventing the maintenance I should be providing. Archiving is the best option, based on the tone of the DNF logs and dwindling interest in caches in the "unknown" category that are not challenge caches. Thanks for playing!

Geocache Description:

Magnetized, weatherized Altoids tin in an appropriate spot.

Cache is not at the posted coordinates. If you look at the posted coordinates on Google maps, though, you’ll notice what is called in the mapmaking trade a “copyright trap.” Google draws a loop of So. 122nd Ave through the parking lot, which clearly is not a city street. (This loop is not there on MapQuest or Bing, for example.) These little map “errors” are there so the copyright holders can tell when their data is being used without authorization.

“Hi beautiful!” Paul Drake would usually say to Della Street, Perry Mason’s secretary. Paul would often enter Mason’s office from the rear secret entrance, and sometimes leave the same way to avoid running into Lt. Tragg of the police, or D.A. Hamilton Burger. The Drake Detective Agency was utilized by defense attorney Mason on a regular basis, although when together Mason was usually the smartest guy in the room.
William Hopper became identified with the role of Paul Drake in the popular CBS television series. Son of gossip columnist Hedda Hopper and cousin to actor Dennis Hopper, he also played Natalie Wood’s father in “Rebel Without a Cause.”
