Bei den Bahnhöfen der Vinschgerbahn handelt es sich um ein völlig erhaltenes Ensemble von vierzehn im gleichartigen Stil errichteten Gebäuden. Innerhalb dieser einheitlichen Haltung sind dennoch drei unterschiedliche Typenbahnhöfe erkennbar:
- der kleinere, erdgeschossige Typus (Algung, Marling, Naturns, Kastelbell, Goldrain, Eyrs und Mals)
- der größere Typus mit zweigeschossigem Wohnteil und bisweilen längerem Satteldach (Töll, Staben, Latsch, Schlanders, Laas und Schluderns)
- der Sondertyp Spondinig-Prad
Alle drei Teile greifen auf ein einheitliches Formenrepertoire zurück: gemauerte, verputzte Aufnahmegebäude mit gewalmten Dach, Fachwerk an den Giebeln und hölzerne Verandavorbauten. Alle sichtbaren Holzbauteile sind detailreich und sorgfältig ausgebildet worden und ebenso einheitlich rot/grün gestrichen.
Obwohl als Bahnhöfe konzipiert, orientierten die Gebäude sich an einer um die Jahrhundertwende beliebten gehobenen Wohnhausarchitektur mit Jugendstilelementen. Sie sollten den damals hauptsächlich aus diesen Kreisen stammenden Reisenden das Gefühl geben „am richtigen Ort“ angekommen zu sein.

Le stazioni della linea Val Venosta rappresentano un insieme di quattordici edifici completamente conservati. Tutti riprendono elementi stilistici comuni e in tal modo creano un quadro estetico omogeneo: Edifici d´accoglienza in muratura a intonaco, tetti spioventi, travature a timpano e verande anteriori in legno. Tutte le tavole di legno delle coperture sono affinate accuratamente e verniciate in modo omogeneo, cioè rosso e verde. Furono realizzate tre tipologie di costruzione a modalità seriale:
- ad un piano (Lagundo, Marlengo, Naturno, Castelbello, Coldrano, Oris e Malles)
- a due piani, comprensivi di abitazione (Tel, Stava, Laces, Silandro, Lasa e Sluderno)
- variante più rappresentativa a Spondigna
L´architettura modulare delle stazioni era largamente diffusa in campo ferroviario nel territorio della duplice monarchia. Pur essendo concepiti come stazioni si orientano verso l´architettura abitativa di livello non privo di alcuni elementi dello Jugendstil. Così potevano dare ai viaggiatori di allora, provenienti soprattutto dal ceto alto, la sensazione di essere arrivati nel” luogo giusto”.

The stations in the Venosta Valley are a completely preserved ensemble of fourteen in similar style erected buildings. Within this unified compliance there are apparent three different stations types:
- the smaller, ground floor type (Algung, Marling, Naturns, Kastelbell,
Goldrain, Eyrs and Mals)
- the larger, two-storey type with flat and sometimes long gable roof (Töll,
Staben, Latsch, Schlanders, Laas and Schluderns)
- the special type Spondinig-Prad
All three parts rely on a single form repertoire: brick and plastered station buildings with hipped roof, truss on the gables and wooden anterior Veranda. All exposed wood components have been designed detailed and equally uniform red / green painted.
The modular architecture was very popular in railway buildings under the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Although designed as train stations, the buildings are oriented towards the upscale residential architecture around the turn of the century with touches of Art Nouveau. The travelers, mainly coming from this upper class, should have the feeling of having arrived "in the right place.”
