I thought that Brockville could use a few puzzle caches, but in thinking about it, I know how anxious everybody gets when they see that "question mark" icon. This series is designed to help those who are a little reluctant to try a puzzle, give it a go. The various caches focus on differing methods of basic puzzle solving and will give one a starting point with their puzzle solving. The series basically amounts to a tutorial and all the caches are micro park and grabs. So let's roll up our sleeves and get started. Before we getting started as with most puzzles, THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES!!!
Roman Numerals
Roman Numerals have been around for a long time, well, since the ancient Roman Empire actually. I remember having had to learn Roman Numerals as a child in grade one, but like Latin, have seen this one go from the schools in recent years. Roman Numerals are fairly simple to learn, once you have a grasp on some basic themes. Here's a basic table for you
It's easy to see why someone might use Roman Numerals as a simple coding method for hiding numbers as at first appearance it can appear daunting. There are also Roman Numeral converters out there, but again, let's use the noggan on this one. For the sake of the 1.5 difficulty, I won't use any numbers above 9 to get you the coords, but I'm certain that you could do it with some practice. So here we go, the cache is located at:
