St Clare's, Park Barn is the daughter church to St Francis, Westborough. This church cum hall was built in the early to mid 1960's by local people. Services were held in the hall until the church was built in the late 1980's.
Once the church was built the hall was revamped and an office and parish room added. It was interesting going to the local toddler group meetings there whilst the building work was being carried out with drafty, gaping holes in the structure.
Unfortunately this church does not have a ring of bells.
St Clare is an Italian saint and one of the first followers of St Francis of Assisi. She founded the Order of Poor Ladies. she was born on 16th July 1194 and died on 11th August 1253.
