Geocache Description:

I thought that Brockville could use a few puzzle caches, but in thinking about it, I know how anxious everybody gets when they see that "question mark" icon. This series is designed to help those who are a little reluctant to try a puzzle, give it a go. The various caches focus on differing methods of basic puzzle solving and will give one a starting point with their puzzle solving. The series basically amounts to a tutorial and all the caches are micro park and grabs. So let's roll up our sleeves and get started. Before we getting started as with most puzzles,
THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES!!!

Cryptography:
Basically cryptography is the science or study of the techniques of secret writing, especially code and cipher systems. Cryptography has been around since ancient times as was used to a great extent in both world wars on both sides of the battle. For the purposes of this simple intro to crytograms, let's use ROT 13, there are many different types of cryptograms, some very complex, but in my experience, this is the one geocachers tend to use the most. There are many internet sources for cryptogram solvers, but this site
http://rumkin.com/tools/cipher/
is the one I use and have had the most luck with. You can use any of the internet resources you'd like though. So plug in the following to any ROT 13 converter and see where this takes you.

Sbegl Sbhe, Guvegl fvk gjb mreb rvtug friragl svir sbegl fvk frira gjb avar Pbatengf, lbh tbg vg!!!

As is the case with all Canadianzombie caches, I hope you have fun, learn something and be safe.

Cheers
