This is an quick an easy cache placed in one of the remnants of the pine tree forests planted in Johannesburg.
Johannesburg, commonly referred to as The 'City of Gold' and is the largest city in the world not built on or near a major body of water - a major river, lake or coastline. That alone makes it a phenomenon onto itself.
Johannesburg also boasts the largest* man made forest in the world! It has developed into the city it is today, the financial capital of South Africa, from the gold rush days of the 1800s.
This Pine tree forest is in the middle of a residential area. It occupies an entire block but used to be much larger. Residential housing now stands where part of the Pine forest was. Many people living in Johannesburg do not realise that this forest exists.
The majestic trees give an peaceful and out-door feel to this location, and if you close your eyes you can imagine that you have left the hustle and bustle of the city.
The cache is a small container with a log-book and pencil, and as space for trade items;
