A traditional cache, upgraded from a nano to a "small" amongst the telescope debris at Mt Stromlo. The cache is now a tin about 10cm across, but unusual.
The Mt Stromlo Astronomical Observatory is famous around the world for its research into the stars. It is part of the ANU (Australian National University) Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics, formed in 1924. Telescopes from 1885 and 1911 once stood here, but five were destroyed in the bushfires of January 2003, along with some unique research items. The site has since been rebuilt but actual observations from here are rare today due to the light caused by nearby homes. Mt Stromlo researchers are now collaborating on the huge Magellan Telescope.
