Histoire :
L'amphithéâtre de Vésunna (ancien Périgueux) a été construit entre le I et le IIème siècle. Destiné à produire des combats de gladiateurs ou de bêtes fauves, il pouvait accueillir jusquà 20 000 spectateurs. Aujourd'hui, l'amphithéâtre a laissé sa place au jardin des Arènes, agréable parc public ceinturé de tilleuls argentés, et composé de massifs de buis, d'ifs et de houx, de platanes, marronniers et épicéas.

The amphitheater Vésunna (former Périgueux) was built between the I and II century. Intended to produce gladiators or wild beasts, he could accommodate up to 20,000 spectators.
