Geocache Description:

The globe of Geocaching events is not complete ! There have only been Events on 6 of the 7 continents. Well lets make it the full set. There has never been a Geocaching Event in Antarctica. So it's time for the first one ever !

Where: The Distance tower, Villa Las Estrellas, King George Island, British/Argentine/Chilean Antarctic Territory. The terrain is rocky, and could well be covered in ice and snow. The weather could be beautiful and sunny, or a dangerous blizzard. You need full polar clothing. Anything is possible, this is the Antarctic, be prepared.
When:  Thursday 7th February 2013 - 0930 (Argentina Time). For 15 minutes only, that's right it's a flashmob :-)
Who:All are welcome of course, anyone passing through that day, anyone from the village of Villa de Estellas or any of the local Chilean, Korean, Russian bases. Anyone who can get there !  There will be a logbook to sign, a photo to be taken, and a FTF to award.
How to get there: There are one or more charter only supply and tourist passenger flights per day from Punta Arenas in Chile. There are no commercial flights . A number of Antarctica ice strengthened/ice breaker passenger ships call in at King George Island during the high season, including our vessel the Clipper Adventurer. It is possible to reach King George Island by private vessel/yacht - but you will need to cross Drake Passage, the roughest sea in the world. Don't do it!
