1) The cache container is a double micro. One side contains the micro log and a small pencil, and the other side contains some micro swag for which you can trade. Once located, it is likely you can get the container without leaving your vehicle.
2) The location of the final may be discovered two different ways. The story below contains everything you need to derive the answer, but the story could be disregarded entirely and the location still uncovered through intuition and mapping. A little legwork either way should do the trick. (A nod to CdAGeoGeeks for (accidentally) giving me this idea.)
The Hardy Boys, like the Bobbsey Twins, The Rover Boys and Nancy Drew, were created by Edward Stratemeyer; the books were ghostwritten by many authors under the name Franklin W. Dixon. Their first appearance, The Tower Treasure, was published in 1927.
Among the actors to portray the brothers were Tommy Kirk and Tim Considine (on the Mickey Mouse Club in the 1950s), Tim Matheson (later “Otter” in Animal House) and Rick Gates, and Shaun Cassidy and Parker Stevenson.
The Hardy Boys in "The Geocache Zoo Argument"
“C’mon, tell me where you put it,” Frank Hardy pleaded with his brother Joe. They were walking through the zoo, but Joe had just hidden a geocache and was reluctant to tell his brother where it was.
“Look at that giraffe,” Joe said. “How can he keep his head up with such a long neck?”
“Is it a large cache?” Frank asked his brother.
“It’s smaller than a dufflepud,” Joe replied.
“Huh?” Frank was clearly befuddled. “What’s that?”
“You don’t know what a dufflepud is?” Joe asked, but immediately changed the subject. “I hope they still have that Madagascar hissing cockroach,” he said. “That thing rocks!”
“What the heck’s a dufflepud?” Frank queried again with exasperation.
“Hey, check out that starfish!” Joe went on as they walked. “Did you know that some species can regenerate a missing arm?”
“Thanks for sharing, but I need you to tell me where the geocache is hidden.”
“Can’t you just relax and enjoy the animals?” Joe replied. “Hey, that cheetah sure is fast.”
Frank was slowly going crazy, but his brother didn’t seem to notice.
“You know what would be interesting?” Joe asked, somewhat rhetorically. “If they put a tarantula in the same enclosure as a dufflepud!”
“Aaaaugh!” cried Frank in frustration.
“There’s the Madagascar hissing cockroach!” cried Joe triumphantly. “I love that thing.”
After a few minutes, Joe and Frank continued their progress through the exhibits. Joe enthusiastically pointed out a rattlesnake, an elephant, a brown bear and a coral snake.
“I wish they had a dufflepud,” Joe said wistfully as they left the zoo and approached their car. Frank was at the end of his rope and confronted his brother.
“Where’s the blasted geocache?” he demanded. “I just told you, lamebrain,” Joe replied.
