Geocache Description:

It's time for another CacheWalker bash! And this time it's Twixmas - it's been far too long since our last Twixmas Bash!!
Everyone is welcome, cachers old and new,for the event, pre-event group walk, or both; A Twixmas excuse for some Geocaching chit chat, a good walk, delicious food, and some festive antics!

Ho, Ho, Ho!
CacheWalker
Twixmas 2012

09:00 meet in the pub car park for a 09:15 depart for the CacheWalker group walk
As with all CacheWalker events, there will be a group walk beforehand - To coincide with the event, a new series of Wrighty caches will be released (aren't we lucky?!). The walk is just over 5 miles in length, and goes across a variety of terrain, but all the paths are well maintained, therefore unlikely to become muddy... However, if it's been wet Wellingtons might still be a good idea, to stay clean for the event afterwards - it may be a good idea to bring a change of footwear too! If you'd prefer not to park by the pub, or there isn't enough room, there is plenty of parking at the village hall 500ft away (see waypoint). Guiting Power is a residential area, so we must make sure we don't make too much noise as we meet up and set off on the walk.

12:00 - 14:15ish The Event - The Farmers Arms, Guiting Power
The event will be held in the skittle alley function room, which is through the main pub and head for the back room (Or just enter straight in from the door at the back). There will be plenty of festive antics going on at the event, including Secret Santa, A Christmasy quiz, and even a game of skittles! If you're not planning on coming on the pre-event group walk, and you arrive to find that we're not back, don't worry and just wait for us in the function room - the pub is open from 11:30.

The Farmers Arms is only a small Cotswold pub, and so are going to struggle to do individual meals. We have agreed with the pub to keep things a bit simpler, and they have put together a shortened choice of meals for us to choose from on the day. These are:

- Roast of the day
- Homecooked ham, egg and chips
- Fishcakes, chips and salad
- Homemade steak and kidney pie
- Wholetail scampi, chips and peas
- Vegetable Chilli (Vegetarian option)

These will all be priced at £9.50 each. Please hand your money to the pub as you go to buy your first drink, and they'll cross you off their pre-order list. If you are wanting to eat at the event Please state so in your Will Attend log, and how many of your group will be eating. Please also say which of the meals above each member of your party will be wanting to eat to give us, and the pub, a good idea on numbers. We will be taking any final pre-orders for food prior to leaving for the pre-event walk, so please pre-order in advance in your log . More details on food could be announced closer to the event. Please also take note that the pub doesn't welcome dogs inside the building. See the uploaded images below for pictures we've taken of the pub.

Other Stuff

Caches
As is traditional with CacheWalker events, new caches will be released on the day. As well as the new series of caches for the pre-event walk (see above) we'll also be releasing a few cache 'n' dashes around the village for those of you who aren't up for the group walk. There are also plenty of quick caches in the vicinity, so make sure to check those out too!

Secret Santa
If you wish to join in please purchase an item, preferably Geocaching related (that you would want to receive!) for around £5. On arrival please drop your wrapped gift into Santa's sack, and enter your name slip in the lock 'n' lock box. Each present will be selected, and a recipient's name drawn from the lock 'n' lock box! PLEASE DO NOT ENTER YOUR NAME IN THE DRAW IF YOU DO NOT GIVE A GIFT, we don't want any disappointments at Christmas time!

Christmasy Quiz
Wrighty will be bringing along a Christmasy quiz for us all to have a go at, for a chance to win a special prize at the end!

Other activities
Awards - It's time to lower the checkered flag on the 2012 CacheWalker SuperBike Challengeand declare this season's winners. Also an opportunity for anyone to join us for next year's race. Plus, the winners of the CacheWalker Forum Awards will also be revealed.
Skittles - The function room is home to a large skittle alley, so when we're all finished there may be time for a quick tournament!
TB/GC Swapping and spotting - As normal, there will be time for trackable swapping and spotting, why not drop your TBs in the box for another cacher to pick up and move on?
FTF Draw- all attendees will automatically be entered into a draw for FTF of the event. As well as bragging rights, the winner will also go home with a little prize!

Fancy Dress is optional, but it would be nice to have some attendees festively dressed, as perhaps some of the organizers will be?

More activities could be announced closer to the event, so make sure you check back regularly or watch this listing!
