Le château Barrière a été construit sur les fondations des murailles de la ville, fortifications élevées avec les matériaux récupérés sur les ruines romaines de l’ancienne Vésuna, on trouve des preuves de son existence dés 1245. Il porte le nom de la famille qui le possédait au moyen âge.
Aujourd’hui ruiné, il conserve toutefois son donjon roman du XIIe siècle et le reste d’un logement rectangulaire avec sa tour d’escalier polygonale du XVe siècle.
Incendié par les huguenots en 1575, il ne fut pas reconstruit et subit son dernier affront avec au siècle dernier le passage de la ligne de chemin de fer à ses pieds.

La boite
Vous devez trouver une boite de 15cm de longueur, 10cm de largeur et 6 cm de hauteur.
Celle-ci contient :une notice du géocaching, goodies pour échange, un stylo et un log book.
The castle gate was built on the foundations of the city walls, fortifications built with materials salvaged from the ruins of the ancient Roman Vesuna, there is evidence of its existence dice 1245. It is named after the family who owned the Middle Ages.
