Geocache Description:

Should be an easy find along the Vandalia Trail.  Permission has been granted for the placement of caches.  No night caching allowed.  Please be sure to hide this as well or better than it is hidden to help avoid it getting muggled!  Thanks!

What is the MCC, you ask?  It's the Monday Caching Crew!  I read through many logs to see exactly when we started using the phrase "MCC", and it reminded me of the many fond memories that I have with this ever-changing group of people.  For starters, the MCC is not a set group of people....it's whoever happens to be able to go caching on whatever Monday we happen to decide to go caching on.  It's occasionally submitted as an event, we all REALLY like to eat, but more often than not, it is much more last minute and posted on Facebook by The Romig Boys or myself for whoever can join us.  So, for a little MCC history.........

The first signifigant Monday group of cachers was organized by Team MCH on MONDAY, 2/20/12 at Southwestway Park.  It was President's Day, so we decided to sign the logs as "PDP"....President's Day Posse, rather than having to wait for SO MANY cachers to sign their own caching names.  A great time was had by all, and a few of us talked about how even though that hike was well attended because it was President's Day, it seemed that a decent amount of us were actually able to cache on Mondays.  Hmmmmm...........

Fastforward to MONDAY, 3/12/12......a small group of us that were always free on Mondays decided to meet up at Southeastway Park to tackle the elusive Shelter V cache.  After a couple of hours of searching, our mission was accomplished, and I believe we were beginning to be referred to as "The Monday Group".  A few smaller MONDAY outings took place here and there and then..........

On MONDAY, 4/30/12, a medium-sized group of The MONDAY crew met up to do the Jaypit and Rocky series of caches that was in Morgan-Monroe, followed by the oldie "Meandering in Morgan-Monroe", which was probably one of the hardest caching hikes that I had ever done.  This particular Monday group will always be near and dear to my heart, as one of our fellow cachers, Team MCH, suffered a heart attack that evening after all of our hiking.  I am very happy to report that he is making leaps and bounds in his recovery (yes, he is STILL recovering after this long), and has been able to recently join in some of our MCC hiking days :D

Moving right along, there have been lots of MCC days here and there, but on MONDAY, 8/16/12, we officially started signing our logs "MCC", since we had begun actually calling ourselves "The Monday Caching Crew" sometime between April and August, although I do not recall when.  On this particular day we were caching on the Farm Heritage Trail that runs between Thorntown and Lebanon.  My biggest memory of that day was how extremely hot it was!!!

It's hard to actually decide which MCC day has been my most memorable, but one that definitely is high on the list, maybe even the highest is when a group of us travelled to Southern Indiana on MONDAY, 8/27/12 to do the 5/5 cache "July 1st, 2001".  This was not only my first 5/5 cache, but it was also my 1000th milestone, which was made very memorable by the wonderful group of people that I was with that day.  I can actually say that they have become some of my closest friends, and they are all special to me.

SOOOOO, this cache will hopefully be a memorable one for The MCC, and I look forward to MANY, MANY more outings with them.  The MCC gives me the opportunity to get together with the cachers that I have become great friends with, as well as giving me the chance to meet and get to know other cachers as well who happen to see that we have an outing planned, and decide to join us.  If you're free on Mondays, come be a part of the MCC!!  We ALWAYS welcome any and all who would like to join in! Congrats to The MCC on the Group FTF! Indynat, JayKayElEm, The Romig Boys, tallulahtulip, s1mplys1m0n, DynamicDs, seekersearcher, and austinhauger.

Adopted 9/23/16 to prevent its being archived, since it is the goal of at least two active trackables. It's now an ammo can, tied to something that should make it a little harder to muggle. It's about 10 ft from the posted coordinates, but I didn't have my hand-held GPS to get good coordinates. It's at approximately N 39 41.174 - W 086 40.646. (HINT: what could it possibly be tied to??) I'll get back out within the next few weeks and get better coordinates, as well as marking the ammo box as an official geocache. There was a pen in there to start out with, along with a lot of fun stuff for kids, but it's always a good idea to bring your own writing instrument just in case.
