Po poti kulturne dediščine / On the trail of cultural heritage

V ravninskem delu občine Žirovnica poteka privlačna, kulturno obarvana tematska pot, ki ima edinstven pomen v slovenskem prostoru. Pot kulturne dediščine Žirovnica povezuje kulturno-zgodovinske spomenike v desetih vaseh pod Stolom, med katerimi se nahaja pet osrednjih točk:
1. rojstna hiša Matije Čopa v Žirovnici
2. Janšev čebelnjak na Breznici
3. rojstna hiša Franca Saleškega Finžgarja v Doslovčah
4. rojstna hiša Janeza Jalna na Rodinah
5. rojstna hiša dr. Franceta Prešerna v Vrbi
Spričo bogate literarne, arheološke in sakralne dediščine, se je vasi pod Stolom prijelo ime »zibelka slovenske kulture«, območje pa se ponaša tudi z lepoto pokrajine, čebelarsko tradicijo in tehniškimi spomeniki.

In the flat part in Žirovnica, there is an attractive, culturally thematic path, that has a unique meaning in Slovenia. The cultural heritage way is integrating cultural and historical monuments in ten villages under Stol, which is located five main points:
1. Žirovnica: birth house of Matija Čop
2. Breznica: birth house of Anton Janša and Janša apiary
3. Doslovče: birth house of writer F.S. Finžgar
4. Rodine: church of St. Clement and the birth house of writer Janez Jalen
5. Vrba: birth house of poet France Prešeren, an extremely old willow surrounded by 16 stones and a church of St. Mark with traces of the original romanesque design
Given the wealth of literary, archaelogical, and religious heritage, villages under Stol are known as a "cradle of Slovenian culture". The area also boasts the beauty of the landscape, beekeping tradition and engineering monuments (http://www.sloveniaholidays.com/eng/po-poti-kulturne-dediscine).
