An amazing sea cave in Souda Bay along the coast of Drapanos peninsular.
Please wear good shoes as the rocks can be slippy when wet and don't attempt in rough seas or high winds.

Close to this spot is the famous cave of the Cretan Elephant which can only be accessed by diving through an under-water tunnel. This cave was accidently discovered by Manolis Efthimakis during an under-water fishing trip in 1999. Fossils of elephants were found inside the cave they were examined and discovered to be a new species, and given the name Elephas Chaniensis. A local dive centre can organise dives to this cave.
The first parking place is at Smugglers Cove, a great place for a picinic or a swim.
TO THE CACHE AREA
To go to the cache area proceed on to the gate at reference point two. This is a stock gate and you may need to open this up. Please close the gate after you. Follow the path to the second reference point via the dirt track. You can take your car down here to the second car parking place if you're happy to pick your way through the rocks but it's probably better to walk.
At the wall keep right and follow the path. Here you will find 3 sets of stairs which lead down to the sea cave. Go and take a look.....
And now to find the cache. You need to count the number of steps as follows:-
A = top crazy paved stairs
B = middle straight stairs
C = bendy bottom stairs
