OCCT - Post Release Party Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

bjmccacher: Time to let this one go. I want to personally thank everyone who attended, it meant so much to coby and myself.

Upcoming News - the owner of the establishment asked us if we could come back the first weekend in June for Oak Creek Valley Days. We said sure, we can think of something!

So, between now and then, we are going to be pretty busy, our plans (with help from Stinkymillers, and whichwaydidigo), is to finish the trail of challenges, so keep on the lookout for those. There will be no mass release for these, we will submit them as we place them. I believe, when all said and done, there will be approximately 110 challenges! I'm hoping its one of the biggest challenge trails in the world!

Second of all, the day of the event in June, (maybe June 1st???), we are going to plan an event similar to the Amazing Race. We will place approximately 25 caches throughout the area, ranging in difficulties, and types, and maybe have 2 person teams, and whoever gets back in the shortest amount of time, with the most finds, wins. There will be lets say a 4 hour time limit, and if you go over the 4 hours, you are disqualified. Coby and I have attended an event like this in the past, and it was tons of fun, I think its something that will hopefully go over well here too! I have already contacted the lower platte south east district about placing caches in their managed Lake areas, and have the go ahead, so look forward to some hiking, and some challenging caches. I hope to see everyone there!

Thanks again for attending, it was one of my best "geo" weekends EVER :)

Geocache Description:

Welcome to the OCCT (Oak Creek Challenge Trail) Post Release Party!

The party will begin at 5:30pm at Harry's, the Big 10 Title Game is scheduled for tonight, and if by chance the huskers are in it, there will be a TV on, GO BIG RED! (hopefully this doesn't jinx my beloved huskers).

The OCCT will consist of approximately 60 Challenges ranging from different Fizzy Challenges to caching in multiple states. There will be something for everyone along the trail.

Along with the challenge trail, we have placed over 30 other caches all around the area (including, puzzles, letterboxes, multis, and traditionals). There will be plenty of chances for FTF's and the caches will range from 1/1's all the way to 5/5's.

Please include the number of people in your party in your attend log so I can let restaurant know.
Even if you are not hitting the trail today, feel free to come out and enjoy dinner with us!

The Trail Head is basically immediately across the street.

More information about the trail:

The Oak Creek trail was on old railroad line that was taken out of service in 1993 and turned into the trail in 1996. To find out more information click here. We hope that you enjoy the trail as much as we do.

Update - The caches should be made public sometime Friday Nov. 30th in the evening.
