Meet fellow geocachers and learn all about the world of Geocaching from experienced geocachers on Thursday, November 15, beginning at 6:47 p.m., at the BP Energy Center, 900 E. Benson Blvd. (Click for map.)
Tonight's speaker is Victoria Nobel, aka Blazingpathways. She will deliver a fast-paced presentation on running Pocket Queries (PQ) and the basic use of the GSAK program to work with your PQ data. This topic is perfect for both new and old Geocachers.
This event will be carried live over the internet via WebEx with formal remote meeting sites in Soldotna and Fairbanks. Contact us immediately if you can host a remote site session. GeocacheAlaska! Sourdough Members who cannot attend an event site can link in remotely. Contact us for instructions on how to do so.
Please post a "Will Attend" log on this event page to stay appraised of the final details. If we need to make any announcements about this event, all registered attendees will automatically receive an email copy of those announcements via the email you have registered with your Geocaching.com account. Adding a "Will Attend" log to this page will also assure enough hard copy handouts are printed for the event participants.
Please arrive on time so upfront administrative details can be handled and announcements made, allowing the course content to start precisely at 6:59 p.m. Also, please bring your favorite nonalcoholic beverage and a dessert to share with your fellow cachers.
There will be a free-will offering cache container at the event to help defray the costs of hosting these FUNdamentals events if you would like to make a donation. The GeAK Store will be available onsite immediately after the presentation. You may purchase items from our line of GxProxy gear as well as official GroundSpeak merchandise and there are still some official 2012 GeocacheAlaska! Pathtags left.
If you have requests for EduVent topics, have a topic that you would like to present to the Alaskan geocaching community, or would like to host future presentations like this one elsewhere in Alaska, please contact Education Committee Chair SSO JOAT.
