Geocache Description:

I-275 Bike Trail - Haggerty Spur is located on the Haggerty Spur off the main I-275 Bike Trail north of Grand River Avenue. There is parking nearby. You can also view an online trail map on Google Maps. It includes markers for official access points to the trail.

The area on I-275 Bike Trail between the northern end and Eight Mile Road is mostly full now. However, there was still this short section of spur access path that could use a cache. So here it is. This section has not been maintained and is in various states of disrepair so be careful if you ride on it. There is some abandoned roadway and parking in the area. If you park across Haggerty, please be careful in crossing the road.

The cache container is a small camo painted bison tube. You will need a log extractor. Please bring your own pencil or pen.

I have found that a quick and simple log extraction tool can be made from a small paperclip. Straighten one end out. Grab just a small portion (maybe 1/32 of an inch or 1 millimeter) with a long-nose or needle-nose pliers then bend it at a right angle. I have attached one to the cache you can use. Please leave it for the next person.
