This is the first geoache in Stone town, the capital city of Zanzibar. We found a very special place that is suitable for placement of the cache: The Cultural Arts Centre Zanzibar. This is a place where local artists and artisans produce their arts and crafts and people are able to watch them while working. Hopefully this cache will also introduce geocachers to the Zanzibari culture. As volunteers from different areas, we're working together for this project. The staff have agreed to accommodate the cache at their centre and care for it, as well as providing any needed maintenance. We chose this place, as a lot of streets and public places are filled with waste. So it would be possible that the cache would be considered as garbage and therefore burnt or thrown away. Also, because of the level of poverty, there is a very real possibility that the cache would be stolen if placed in any open public area. You can search for the cache every day from 10am to 6pm and watch the artists while working. The locals will be pleased to have a nice talk with geocachers.

Dies ist der erste Geocache in Stone Town, der Hauptstadt von Sansibar. Für diesen Cache haben wir uns einen ganz besondern Ort ausgesucht: Das Cultural Arts Centre Zanzibar. Dies ist eine Künstlerwerkstatt und Atelier in dem man einheimischen Künstlern bei ihrer Arbeit über die Schultern schauen kann. Das Ziel dieses Geocaches ist den Geocachern die sansibarische Kultur näher zu bringen. Als Volentäre arbeiten wir mit dem Projekt zusammen und haben es mit den Menschen vor Ort abgesprochen. Wir haben ihnen den Geocache erklärt, sie sind von der Idee begeistert und werden ihn pflegen. Diesen Ort mussten wir uns aussuchen, da viele Strassen und Plätze von Sansibar sehr verschmutzt sind und voller Müll liegen, sodass die Gefahr, dass der Geocache für Müll gehalten wird, weggeworfen oder verbrannt wird, sehr gross ist. Da leider die Armut in Tansania recht hoch ist, kann es passieren, dass ein Geocache, der auf öffentlich zugänglichen Plätzen liegt, entwendet wird. Auf die Suche könnt Ihr euch täglich von 10-18 Uhr machen; während dieser Zeit ist es möglich den Künstlern der Arbeit zuzuschauen. Über Gespräche mit den Geocachern freuen sich die Sansibaris immer.

Il s'agit de la première géocache Stone Town, la capitale de Zanzibar. Pour ce cache, nous avons choisi un endroit très spécial: Le Cultural Arts Centre Zanzibar. Il s'agit d'un atelier d'artiste et un studio où vous pouvez regarder des artistes locaux au travail sur les épaules. Le but de cette chasse au trésor est les géocacheurs mettre la culture de Zanzibar. Comme volontaire nous travaillons ensemble avec le project et ont convenu avec les populations locales. Nous leur avons expliqué la cache, ils sont enthousiastes à l'idée et va s'occuper de lui. Cet endroit nous avons dû nous choisir, comme de nombreuses rues et les places de Zanzibar sont très sale et pleine de mensonge ordures, de sorte que le risque que la géocache est considéré comme ordures sont jetées ou incinérées, très grand. Parce que, malheureusement, la pauvreté en Tanzanie est assez élevé, il peut arriver qu'une géocache, qui se trouve sur les lieux publics, est volé.
