Are you ready for some fun friendly competition on Saturday, 17 November?
The 2012 ATMA GeoLimpics are back by popular demand. Come join us for several hours of fun at the Challenger Park, Pavilion #2, from 11 am to 4 pm.
There will be Individual/Caching Team pictures taken upon arrival with the OLimpic Rings and Torch, where you will receive a special event coin.
Some Details:
There is power in the pavilion.
Restrooms are attached.
We will have a popcorn machine.
Large charcoal grill will be hot. We will supply and cook hot dogs for everyone. You can bring something for yourselves and throw it on the grill too if you want something different than the hot dogs.
Lots of tables are there.
Bring your favorite side dish.
We provide bottled water and need sodas and drinks.
Bring your GPS or electronics that allow you to manually enter coordinates.
Group Picture of all attendees is scheduled at 1:00 p.m. sharp.
The games will begin at 1:15 pm right after the group picture.
Special Gold, Silver, and Bronze ribbons will be awarded for each category (men, women, youth (age 11-15), kiddos (age 6-10), and kiddies (age 1 - 5) in the following games:
1. Ammo Can Shot-put - Men, Women, Youth (11-15)
2. Film Canister Toss - Men, Women, Youth (11-15), Kiddos (6-10), Kiddies (1-5)
3. Discus Throw - Youth (11-15)
4. Country Flag Baton Relay (Partners must be old enough to cache alone)
5. Kids Bucket Races – Kiddies (1-5) and Kiddos (6-10)
Please let us know in your “Will Attend” how many are in your group, what events you would like to participate in and to help us with the meal planning, what side dish you will be bringing.
Texas Parks and Wildlife has sent a few items as give aways and Groundspeak has decided to participate as well.
Sorry but the park contract states that there will be no pets or alcohol allowed. No exceptions.
There are several caches in the park and surrounding area so please come join us for a day of fun games, food and socializing.
