Geocache Description:

Coined “America’s #1 Trail” by Bike Magazine, the McKenzie River Trailtakes mountain bike riders and hikers on a singletrack 26.5 mile journey through 300 year old old-growth forests, lava beds and turquoise blue natural pools.  Hold on tight as you traverse log bridges over rushing water. The upper half of the trail is more technical, through lava flows and rocky areas. The bottom half, below Trailbridge Reservoir is less technical with more flowy singletrack that parallels the majestic river. The trail passes through Belknap Hot Springs before coming to an end in McKenzie Bridge. The trail descends 1,800 feet.

The Eugene, Cascades & Coast GeoTour stretches from Florence on the Oregon Coast to the scenic McKenzie River and Cascade Mountains. Explore stunning waterfalls, lush trails, epic dunes, lava fields, serene lakes, breathtaking views and iconic sites. Discover your new favorite spot in Oregon!
