Geocache Description:

The Army Corps of Engineers built a fish collection facility at Cougar Reservoir in 2009. The facility, which includes a fish ladder, allows biologists to move adult fish from the South Fork of the McKenzie River to high quality spawning habitat above Cougar Dam and Reservoir. Construction of the dam in the 1960's harmed fish populations, but the Corps hopes the collection facility, along with the Water Temperature Control Facility finished in 2005, will help restore threatened populations of spring Chinook salmon and bull trout.
