Geocache Description:

Intermediate hike; 6.5 miles round trip.

Directions:
Head East from Dillon on U.S. 6. Turn right on to Montezuma Rd. then left at the fork and continue for just over 4.5 miles to Peru Creek Rd. on your left. Turn left onto Peru Creek Rd. and continue 2 miles on this rough (4WD recommended) road to the Chihuahua road on your left. Park and hike.

Enjoy this journey through the beautiful terrain of Chihuahua Gulch!

My boyfriend proposed to me near this spot on May 27, 2012!  Having told me that there was a geocache near the lake (which was untrue) he drug me through spring runoff (off trail), over snow pack, and up and down the rocky ledge. He raced ahead to hide the cache and when I caught up to him he claimed the GPS was out of batteries.  All I wanted was some of the chocolate we brought, but he insisted "we" find the cache first.  After a fake cache description and several hints I found this cache.  I turned to exclaim I found it and he was already down on one knee...

Bring your own small sparkling trinket to share!  Note: compartment is fairly small.
