Geocache Description:

Brigsteer Park is a lovely wood on the rising side of the Lyth Valley. Six caches form a circular walk. Boots/wellies are recommended!

From No.4 Gate, go south briefly and then up the obvious rising path. At the 'top' where the path levels off, a smaller path branches off to the right in the direction of the cache. You will pass some clearings and new fenced coppice areas.

"The fenced areas are the coppice coupes, the fences are required to protect the trees from the high number of deer in the area (Roe and Red) which would browse the young leaves, eventually killing the trees. The fences are just temporary, 2-3 years just to give the trees a start, we will then move the fences to the next areas. As part of the management a contractor called Gareth does a lot of the work. Through the grants he has been able to set up Wood Matters.  He operates a community wood fuel scheme where people can offer their help for a day of work in the woods in return they will receive some wood fuel. He also runs green wood craft workshops." NT

The GPS should identify the right tree that yew need, but to avoid doubt, 7m W of an oak, on the flat not on the slope, S edge of 'clearing'.  Bring an athletic team member for this cache, but it's not too tricky.  South side is easiest - looking for a small vial.
No.6

Peacock Butterfly / High Brown Fritillary Butterfly
