Geocache Description:

Posted coordinates point to a nearby intersection, but don't park there; solve the puzzle below to unlock the final location. At the northernmost edge of the public wildlife corridor around the creek. Park carefully and responsibly, and don't trespass on the private property to the north.

Original container has been replaced with a magnetized and weatherized mint tin. Terrain has been adjusted back; coordinates still within reasonable margin of error, but about 20 feet north of original.

Sam Spade, created by Dashiell Hammett, only appeared in one full-length novel and three short stories. He was one of the first prototypical “hard-boiled” detectives, and the novel “The Maltese Falcon” is considered a classic of the genre. It was filmed three times from 1931 to 1941, and the 1941 version with Humphrey Bogart as Sam Spade is a film noir masterpiece.

1939 is generally considered Hollywood’s greatest year, but 1941 may come in second. In addition to the classic Humphrey Bogart version of “The Maltese Falcon,” many other classic movies were released in 1941.

Write these 16 film titles from 1941, one letter to a box, using the clues provided. If you can get all 16 without looking anything up, you’re a true Turner Classic Movies fan. Punctuation and a few words have been provided; also, in honor of Sam Spade, the letter S is already filled in. To make it even easier, they’re in alphabetical order.

14. Another horror film with a transformation theme, this time with Lon Chaney Jr.
15. Errol Flynn starred as General Custer.
16. Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth together for the first time.
