GPS technology has made us very lazy and I suspect most of us have forgotten how to use a magnetic compass to navigate. This multi cache can be done with a Smartphone but humor me and use an old-fashioned magnetic compass.
I suggest you find out what the magnetic declination is in Springs because I am going to give you true bearings and not magnetic bearings, just to keep it interesting…
Stage1:
The published coordinates will bring you to a big water pipe, stand with your back touching the meter (in the middle of the piping) facing the park. Now give 5 paces forward until your are in line with the tree on your right – the metal pipe will influence your compass. Sight the tree on bearing 285 degrees 83m away. Go to this tree.
Stage2:
Stand with your back to the middle of the root system facing back to the starting point. Sight the tree on bearing 143 degrees 36m away. Go to this tree.
Stage3:
Stand with your back to the middle of the tree. Sight the tree on bearing 273 degrees 61m away. Go to this tree.
There is only a log sheet in the cache container, please bring own pen.
