Cold Hiendley Hides is a pleasant circular 3.3 mile walk through woods, fields and alongside the disused Barnsley canal with 13 caches along the route. This is our third walk, the others being Notton Navigation (10 caches and a bonus) and High Hoyland Hike (8 caches and a bonus). There is a short section along the road at the start and further on the path crosses a busy fast road. Take care with young children near the roads and by the canal. The paths can get muddy in the winter and good footwear is advised. Suggested parking is given below. The walk can be combined with Notton Navigation to make a figure of eight 7 mile walk. The hides are of varying difficulty and you won’t find any plastic clip boxes. Please replace all as found and make sure they are hidden as well or better than you found them. Don’t forget to bring a pen/pencil. We have tried to get coordinates as accurate as possible but be aware of the effect of tree cover, particularly alongside the canal. Please replace this cache exactly as you find it.
