MKBW: Indigo 24 - On The Road Again Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

A Sleuth of Bears: The committee decided to retire the MKBW caches at the end of 2015, so I'm archiving all the Indigo series caches and will be going out sometime soon to collect them (hoping I can find them all!!!).

Thanks to all who found and commented on these caches.

Geocache Description:

MKBW Indigo Section

MKBW: Indigo 24 – On The Road Again

The Milton Keynes Boundary Walk is a circular walk approximately 65 miles long around the boundary of the Milton Keynes Unitary Authority; it is waymarked with the Oakleaf symbol.

In 2012 a group a local geocachers divided the walk into sections and set a series of over 300 caches along the boundary.

Please note: the "Caching the Boundary" website is no longer available and the intention is to archive these caches at the end of 2015

The indigo section of the walk is approximately 7.5 miles long and covers the most northerly section of the Milton Keynes Boundary walk, dipping in and out of three counties (Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire & Bedfordshire). It starts on the A428 near Warrington Lodge, south east of Yardley Hastings and ends on the A428 between Cold Brayfield and Turvey (or vice versa!). This is not a hilly walk, but some parts of this section can be very muddy after rain.

This is a very rural section of the boundary walk, with limited parking and access. There are laybys on the A428 at each end of the section where it might be possible to park. There are good pubs in the nearby villages of Bozeat (north), Yardley Hastings (west) and Turvey (east). The market town of Olney (home of the pancake race) lies to the south and has a good selection of pubs, restaurants and B&Bs.

There are 23 caches in this section (plus a Bonus) and each cache contains information (written on the bottom of the cache container) to help you find the indigo bonus cache, which is hidden near the middle of the section. There is enough information in the caches to enable you to find the bonus cache from either direction.

This is the last cache in this section (or the first, if you are walking anti-clockwise!) and can be done as a cache and dash if you don't want to do the whole section. The nearby house is Brayfield House. Please be careful when crossing the road.

This cache is a small clip-lock box containing log book and pencil with room for a few small items.
