Geocache Description:

Bring your own pen
Leira is the main commercial centre on Tustna island. Tustna used to be its own municipality and had just under 1000 inhabitants. The main Tustna island today has about 800 inhabitants and the main centre is not much more than two grocery stores including a post office, an auto shop, a knitwear shop, a small marina, a fotball stadium, a quarry, a communal house, school, kindergarden and about 40 residential buildings.

NORWEGIAN:


Leira på Nordmøre er det komersielle senteret på Tustna. Øya har i dag ca. 800 innbyggere og senteret er derfor ikke veldig stort. Likevel finner du det meste av det du trenger i hverdagen her. To butikker inkludert en post i butikk, et verksted, et utsals for håndverk, en småbåthavn og diverse andre tilbud. Blant annet en stadion, skole, barnehage, forsamlingshus og et grustak.

ENGLISH:


The Tustna inhabitants work within the school or health services ran by Aure municipality, as famers/fishermen or in other businesses in Kristiansund. The Tustna island (a part of Aure municipality) also is a popular area for cabin owners. Several leisure cabins have been built over the last couple of years. There was also a considerable increase in the numbers of cabins in the 70s. Most of the cabins are on the north and west side of the island and usually not far from the sea shore.

The Leira marina area will probably expand quite a lot over the next couple of years as there are concrete plans to increase the number og docking areas and boat houses. Ringholmen (lodging on an island near Tustna, temporarily closed at the moment) and other sea-related services and attractions are reliant on people visitting the coast line by boat, hence a larger marina and more services for boat enthusiasts will help local economy and tourist trade.

I have included a couple of reference points to different facilites mentioned in the cache description. There are several other interesting areas with caches nearby.
