The occupation only lasted a weekend. In the absence of any help from the Army or any official body, the people of Cobham raised a militia and ousted the aliens. It was quite a sight to behold: an army of 4x4 Range Rovers (all black of course) was assembled and Chelsea WAGs lobbed petrol bombs made out of Bollinger bottles at the advancing Martians.
During the short occupation the Martians left their mark on the streets of Cobham, changing all the historic plaques and street signs. It seems that they were looking to add Cobham to their Martian Heritage Trail (why they didn’t choose Bath or Oxford I couldn’t tell you).
It also seems that Geocaching has caught on across the Milky Way. I found the following text attached to an interesting TB left in a local cache:
To date I have not been able to decode this text although I have recently come across a number of images taken during the occupation (thankfully the signs have all since been changed back to English):
Some of the characters look similar, so perhaps these signs can be used to decipher the text?
I've uploaded the original (larger) images below.
I've also created a decode grid in which I have listed all the characters that appear in the text, and in the order in which they first appear. Good luck and be careful!
