This small dam and park used to be a very vibrant and beautiful place a few years ago. We (Trapsuutjie and I) use to fish for bass in this dam on a catch-and-release basis. Not many people knew about the abundant bass stock in this little stretch of water. Needless to say, it didn’t remain a well-kept secret for long and the local authorities had to place a ban on fishing in this pond.
Unfortunately this park as many in the area fell victim to the destructive nature of a few irresponsible people who ignored the rules.
The local duck population seemed to have survived this ordeal and we were met with a lot of curiosity and interest from them when we scouted and planted the cache. Please assist in removing any rubbish when visiting GZ as nature deserves our help and support in cleaning up our environment.
