Geocache Description:

This cache is the 5th in a series which have been placed to celebrate the 2012 Keyne-O series of local orienteering events takes place once a month in the different parks around Milton Keynes.

The event taking place on 9th September 2012 is at Woughton on the Green and the OU. The start will be at the OU just off the V10 Brickhill Street between 10am and 12pm.

I thought that a few Geocachers may be interested in having a go at a different sort of navigation for a bit of fun! The Keyne-O orienteering events are open to anyone and are run by the South Midlands Orienteering Club. They are great for beginners and more experienced orienteerers who fancy a good run around. There are 3 different courses "amble" ~ 3km - controls are all easy to find, "trot" ~ 5km - controls may be a bit more challenging and the "run"~ 7km - controls are again a bit more challenging.

Now…..how to find the cache!!!

This multi-cache requires you to find 6 of the permanent orienteering posts around the Ouzel Valley near Woughton on the Green. A map showing all the posts around this area is available from the Parks Trust website http://www.theparkstrust.com/sports-and-activities/orienteering. (NOTE: You don’t need the map for this multi as I have given you the GPS co-ordinates of each of the posts!)The posts are painted green with red and white bands. Each post has a number on the top and two letters painted on the side. You will need the letter combination on each of the 6 posts listed as waypoints to determine the location of the cache! (NB waypoint 4 is a small white board nailed to the fence – there is no post here!)

NOTE: please ignore the letters printed on white paper that are taped to the posts. These are not the ones you are looking for!

I hope you enjoy your walk around this lovely area, finding this cache and perhaps we will see you at the event on the 9th September!!
