A nice walk on black sand to a popular plane wreck
"This is a military version of DC3, either Douglas R4D, or C-117, that landed on the south coast of Iceland around 1970 when the fuel ran out. It's been lying there ever since" [1][2]
Even the famous survivalist Bear Grylls used this plane as a shelter in his TV-show when he was in Iceland (season 7, episode 3).
The cache is located between two small rivers. If you travel by car you can park your car beside the main street and have a walk of about 4-5 km to the plane wreck. Please respect nature and cross fences with care and close gates behind you. Avoid disturbing animals and don’t approach them unnecessarily [3].
