Mountain area cache with a fantastic view overlooking the ski hill at Mt. Charleston.
This cache is a metal tin container, well hidden (maybe) with a fantastic view of the ski hill.
I strongly recommend that if you're looking for this or for the other 3 caches off the Bristlecone trail, that you follow the trail and do not try to climb up the hill from the road, the campground, or any parking areas. Just saying.
To find this cache from the Bristlecone trail, go to the upper Bristlecone trailhead and walk about 1.5 miles; just past (just north of) Krzy Cache, follow the ridgeline to the east and keep walking on this gentle hill until you come to my cache.
If you really really feel like walking up a very steep hill, then exactly 500 feet past the end of the hand rail at the start of the Bristlecone trail is an opening, going up the hill on your right (see waypoint). Walk straight up that hill, there are 3 large pines in a line. At the top, take a left up the ridgeline (which is also quite steep) and follow it to my cache.
I don't recommend this route... it's not a trail, more like a way for mountain goats to traverse the hill side, and for water to flow down. :)
(although I should add that I have done it both up and down by this route. 30min up taking my time, 15min down NOT taking my time.)
