Geocache Description:

This church cache is in the middle of a mini-series of 6 simple caches placed to help commemorate our 300th find.

Whilst not a circular route, this 6 cache amble is nearly a 2.5 mile return trip and should take a leisurely hour to complete by foot (excludes cache searching time).

This is a camo micro that is placed outside of the church grounds - you will need to BYOP and you may need a log extraction tool. There is a car park outside the church.

St Botolph is the medieval church of North Cove, so-named, apparently, to distinguish it from South Cove although the latter takes its name from the fact that it is a mile south of Covehithe. Maybe North Cove was simply Cove before the roads and railways came?

The eccentric flint and red brick tower is rather pleasing beside the solid Norman nave, which is betrayed by the splendid south doorway. Decorated windows punctuate the walls, but they seem a little awkward, as if they didn't want to be quite so far apart.

To the left of the church is the original Lowestoft Road which leads you to Worlingham. The road was bypassed by the A146 some 25 years ago. To the right is a cycle path that takes you to North Cove and Barnby. Which ever direction you choose you will find a number of the North Cove Amble caches to find if you so wish

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
