Geocache Description:

The 31.5-mile Snoqualmie Valley Trail offers the opportunity to get out and explore one of the most beautiful agricultural valleys in the region. Walk or ride the Trail to discover this unique railroad bridge. Park on SE Tokul Rd near SE 60th Street to access the trail. From there it's about 3/4 mile north on a relatively flat grade. Surface: Crushed rock and original ballast surfacing. Former railroad trestles have been decked and hand railed from Duvall to Rattle Snake Lake.

The trail meanders past working farms as well as preserved open space areas, and connects to the cross-state John Wayne Pioneer Trail in Iron Horse State Park.

Points of interest include Tolt-MacDonald Park, Meadowbrook Farm, Three Forks Natural Area and the Tokul Trestle. Be sure to walk onto the trestle and discover the view to the west as well as the vista of Tokul Creek far below.

This geocache was placed as part of the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the first use of Conservation Futures. Since 1982, King County, in partnership with nonprofit groups, cities and civic leaders has protected 111,000 acres of land from development, including 99,000 acres of Cascade foothills; 3,200 urban greenbelts and parks; 4 miles of Puget Sound shoreline and 4,700 acres of riparian habitat on rivers and creeks. It has leveraged $150 million in matching funds. We can't stop now. There is more to do.
