This multi-cache takes you to the beautiful old village of Godshill. It involves collecting clues about the village life. There is a free car park by the Old Smithy. The first car park is always open, the big car park at the back is locked at night. The village can be busy in the summer. Take care on the road when there is no pavement. There are a few other caches not far away with a bit more walking.
Stage 1.
The above coordinates take you to an information panel where you will find answers to the following questions:.
- How many homes at the time of the 19th Century census: •A = second number.
- How many inhabitants at that time: •B• = second number.
- “...The following occupations were represented: baker, blacksmith, .....” : C = number of letters in the word of the 3rd occupation.
- D = C-B.
- “….shepherd, shoemaker and ….“: E = number of letters in the last word, minus 3.
- F = C-A-E.
- “...down through the attractive woodland of ... Copse”. G = number of letters of the missing word.
- H = E-A.
- All Saints Church: Who was the well-regarded local historian, Sir … ?: K = number of letters in his surname.
Stage 2 is a short walk away:
- N 50° 37.962 W 001° 15.187 - To celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s ..... ...L = last digit of the year.
Now you will find a comfortable place to relax and do the calculations.

The cache is a small click-lock sandwich box with a pen, log book, a TB at time of placing and other bits. Please take a pen just in case...and wear wellies in the wet season!
The GPS might be jumpy.
